Blues forward Ashley Darcey has joined the St. Luke’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a player-coach.
Darcy will spend the next four years with the team, a source told NHL.com on Thursday.
He joins former Blues’ captain Jason Dickinson as the only Blues players with multiple NHL coaching stints.
Darcy played in six games with the Blues this season, scoring one goal and one assist, as well as posting seven penalty minutes and a plus-four rating.
He recorded 17 points (six goals, seven assists) in 72 career NHL games, all with the St-Louis Blues.
The 6-foot-3, 215-pound defenseman has played in 68 career AHL games, scoring 29 points (eight goals, 20 assists).
He was acquired by the Blues from the Philadelphia Flyers in a trade in December 2017.
